my trooper was running fine its a 2001 trooper rs untill one day it started pulling back whilst driving then it would cut out ever time i dipped the clutch. it then would'nt start again but if i left it for a couple of hours it would fire back up, drive it about a mile and it would cut back out if i used the hand brake to stop and kept the revs up it would'nt cut out when the clutch was dipped, now it has never failed to start untill the other day i pulled it out of the garage in the morning it was parked all day when i went to drive it back into the garage it would not start or even fire Crying or Very sad , if anybody has any thoughts on this i would be glad  to hear as i realy want my trooper back on the road cheers Crying or Very sad

Could be oil pressure sensor or possible Throttle Position Sensor. - Does your check engine light come on prior to the stall? - If so should be the TPS

no lights come on when it stalls out not even the engine check light, is the oil pressure sensor the one on the oil/fuel  rail which the injectors bolt to,

yep - unfortunately you need a dealer to code it in using Tech2

To be honest if you can get it to a dealer then get them to plug it in and they should be able to get the error codes off especially if it is stalling all the time

Try filling the oil (using 5w30 grade only as its a 3.0) to the max then adding a further two litres ... if it fires into life then the strainer in the sump is broken and you need a new one fitting. If not then drain the extra oil out and have the above sensors etc checked. Also on the list are High Pressure oil pump, rail control valve and as its clutch related it could be play in the main bearing throwing the crank sensor out.

if it's cutting out when the clutch pedal is pressed then it's either a crank sensor on the way out or the worst case scenario the crank shaft is worn, replace the sensor and see how it goes, if it still does it then i'd start saving for a crankshaft.
