I have a 3l DOHC trooper ( import). I have noticed that i have a fuel leak, it seems to be coming from the rear of the tank area. It seems to leak out during the night onto the tank protective plate, sit there untill i dive away. I cannot seem to locate the leak. Is it a big deal in removing the tank? how many nuts/bolts involved in removal, general time to remove? any simple things i should try before changing the tank? I have soueced one from milners but thought i would seek some advice first.
Regards.

There's a good chance it's one of 3 pipes on the top of the fuel tank is leaking (they've a habbit of doing it).

There's 4 bolts to drop the tank, but have a trolley jack under it and very slowly lower it since your going to have to disconnect the fuel lines as it comes down. If you look under the rear drivers side wheel arch with a torch you'll see what's in there.

Thanks for the prompt reply, is there anything that i need to disconnect prior to removing the bolts and lowering the tank?

A really really good wash around the fuel filler pipe on the inner wheel arch - it'll need disconnecting and you don't want any soil in the fuel Wink
