For all you Thunderbird fans out there, be aware that they have introduced a new feature in version 3 (currently in Beta) which allows websites to track you by requesting an HTTP ping response from your computer when you click on a link. Don confuse this with the simple ping used to prove IP connectivity - this is a full fledged data packet that can transfer as much data as your PC setup will allow if the website owner so desires.

Firefox (mozilla) are planning on making a LARGE amount of money off selling your browsing habbits - same as BT with Phorn.

Try Opera, it's a browser which passes the acid test and they aint going to sell you out  Rolling Eyes

Opera is the best. Just the mouse gestures are worth it.

Actually, what I did was to open Thunderbird v3, enter about:config into the address bar, hit <Enter>, then scroll down and double click on this line

browser.send_pings;false

to toggle it from true to false

This option is not present in earlier versions of Thunderbird, and in an ideal world should not be defaulting to ¨true¨, nor should users have to edit config files to change it.

But youŕe right - yet another company happy to sell its customers for whatever they can get.
