this lane you talk about is a very good lane and is well looked after it is also the highest green lane in the country i have done this lane once before and am doing this weekend hopefully, the 100" wheel base is to protect the lane it self as some hairpins in a wheelbase over 100 "s you would have to do a monouvre to get it round hairpin ,  Laughing  will be doing it this time in a mk1 v6 paj , they only let you over in groups of 4 and you are marshalled and scrutinered in and off lane but its well worth it if you wanna do the most demanding and hardest in lane in the country

Highest lane in the country - Yes

Either the most demanding or hardest  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing Not a chance !!!

Mud tyres only so you don't wheel spin and cause damage, sounds like it's a sight for special scientific or something.  3.5 hours to get a convoy over - I know of lanes which take all day to do 1/4 mile.

100" only so you don't go forwards and backwards on corners and potentially cause damage.

Sounds like a beautiful run, but a pleasant days laning with a cup of tea to enjoy the view, not a full on winch frenzy lane from hell.

I've a feeling getting up Chaplegate took longer than this lane would from beginning to end?

Don't get me wrong though - would love to give it a go, just dont get it a little bit out of proportion though Wink
