Has anyone else experienced this, it' happened to me twice. Old  style tow hitch - coupling lubricated with grease.New style coupling ( Alko, Winterhoff etc. with integral stabiliser ) dry towball for efective damping action and must remain clean to prevent contamination to friction pads.Arrive on caravan site and are kindly asked if we would like our unit put onto the pitch by the owners with their own tractor? Thanks but no thanks. Next caravan arrives and are asked the same. They accept and their nicely greased coupling is hooked onto the tractor.Yet another unit arrives with brand new Alko ( integral stabiliser ) dry hitch. Onto tractor complete with greasy towball from previous 'van. Hey presto stabiliser not worth a Thomas the Tank. This happens quite frequently dry-greased-dry - dry -greased etc and it ocurrs on other sites too.Next time your offered some intimate coupling, ask if they have wiped their balls first! Shocked
