As you may have seen on previous posts, ive been trying to get my Mu through a retest of MOT.

Have used a glue together CV boot, bit of welding courtesy of my old man. a numberplate bulb and a couple of bottles of smoke treatment (one oil and one diesel).

i cant get hold of the rear seatbelt catch or the drop links shown on other posts (which arent an MOt point anyway!).

Im going to take it somewhere different because the guy might think im taking the mickey if i take bits off that hes failed!

So the question is..... SEATBELTS! If i take the rear seats out, will they just not check the belts? or fail them for not being there? Need to be sure because im not taking it to the usual place!

Thanks
Andrew

Just take the rear belts off, leave the seats in. It'll pass an MOT that way.

Glue together CV boots are not brilliant IMO, especically how easy it is to split the driveshafts on isuzu's.

Take the seats out, the belts don't come into it if no seat, if you leave the seats and remove the belts it'll fail for having obligitory seat belts missing.

Na, the struts which hold the body to the chassis, the SWB's have them, the LWB's dont appear to...

If the seats are folded up thay cannot test the belts and so cannot fail it - i have sent the frontera through like this before with stuff in the back
but i suppose it depends on the tester
cheers
Steve

Thanks for the replies.

i think i'll take the seats out... might leave them out and try to find a rollcage   Twisted Evil

and i'll take those strut things off and then cross my fingers! Will keep everyone updated. Just need to get those calipers now! Going to spend the evening having another go at refurbing the old ones though. Not holding my breath!
