Think I saw on an MOT test chart that the emission test RPM for the 3.0 TD is 4750 rpm yet the tacho redlines at 4250 rpm
Can anyone explain this please, mainly curiosity but MOT due shortly,so would like to know....
Cheers

Hi most MOT testers wont rev the engine to its maximum rpm just high enough as to get a reading,
The figures will be a maximum rpm that the engine will rev at, {a mot guide} |

Officially, a diesel engine should be revved to the limiter for the MOT smoke test.
(but testers with some mechanical sympathy often leave it short) |
