I've mounted mine on a Thule roof bar.  Is that of any interest?  Once it stops snowing I can nip outside and take some pics.  Could maybe (maybe) track down the bits and supplier but pretty sure it's 4x4cb.com.  The guy was great on the phone - very helpful.  Mounting on roof has pros and cons but if you want radio range there is no substitute for antenna height.  Spare wheel and bullbar are too low unless it's just in-sight convoy use.

I also have an HF/VHF unit which blows the CB away for range. But you need an OFCOM licence although the Foundation test is peasy.  (We use our radios in northern Scotland so CB is only for convoy use.  You can throw a haggis farther than it can reach. We only use the HF these days.)

Let me know if you want more info.

Tony.
