You know when you go on Google Images, and punch in Isuzu Trooper, several club sig pics come up, especially Mr Goodwins Rolling Eyes

.

What I would like to know is, how does an image become "noticed" by a search engine, and is there anything you can do to make the search engine more likely to pick up certain images ?

I'm in the middle of transfering all mine up to Photobucket at the mo.

Its down to the sites meta tags (Key words in its description) and search rating with that search engine, also the title of the image is very important, such as "isuzu trooper champagne stuck" will bring better results than "troopstuck01" Very Happy

It also comes down to the amount of times that pic has been clicked on.

So, in Photobucket, when it asks you to add tags to your photos, are they the meta tags then ?

Ok I put "Isuzu Trooper" into a goggle image search and found no club sigs, got bored after page fourteen though...

if you type "Troopstuck01" into google images ....it comes up with "Your search - troopstuck01 - did not match any documents. " Laughing

that should show peeps how good they are

its down to tags and the google bot.
the more hits a pic or page has through google the higher the rank. the higher the rank the lower the page number.
the bot will crawl pages 24/7 so a rank will always change as will the page it is on within google.

and meta tags are a bit out of date now. most use a java script to get a better rank.
