Hi Everyone,
This probably isn't specifically a Trooper thing but any advice will, as always, be gratefully received. The last few days the old bag has been sluggish turning over, like the batteries are very low on charge. Both batteries are showing a green spot so should be good (no spot or a white one would mean they need charging) and are only 18 months old. I'm not getting the battery light coming on while driving so I, rightly or wrongly, assume the alternator is ok. It hasn't got so sluggish that it's failed to start but it is slightly nerve racking. The lights are nice and bright when the engine isn't running so presume there is charge in the batteries. Also, which battery starts it? I was told one is for the electrics and one for starting.
3.0l Insignia 2000/W
Thanks in advance chaps. |

Eekk ! are they AC Delco ones ? Pure scrap those things . Last a year at most .
What is the volt meter in the dash reading ?
There is no difference in the two batteries on a 3.0 as they are joined together like one large one so if its getting slow on the starting it may be one or both
batteries are at the end of their life they need to be tested with proper discharge meter which will show up faults .
SED's in Guildford will do batteries at a good price if you need new . _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |
