Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me if the EGR cooler was disconnected would it make the engine run very warm over certain speeds?

Hi there,
the previous owner disconnected it, I have owned the truck for a year now and only use it on local roads but recently had a run on the motorway and the temp shot up and manangment light came on.
I will post a pic |

hmm i wouldn't of thought so but if the pipework was part of the flow of the coolant and disconnecting it interrupted the flow so it couldn't flow properly then maybe yes as lack of flow could result in the engine getting to hot. i can't remember off the top of my head where abouts it connects in to though. |

he said it was pressurising when connected, should it connect to the header tank?
would a better oil cooler help? |

Whats on the inside of the cooler?? does it have a coil in it?? |

the exhuast pipe to the inlet goes though it so if the inner pipe corrodes it pressuries the water in the cooling system |
