Hi

Can anyone help, i've got a 52 plate 3.0 that has had a 3.1 TD fitted at some point and whoever did it failed to get anyhting but the basics working. Now that the winter has well and truly begun it has become clear that the glow plugs aren't working, which I assume is down to the pre-heat system on 3.0 needing various signals from the engine to operate correctly. Is there any way to by pass all of this and just fit a switch to manually switch on and off the glow plugs on those cold mornings as in the summer it starts fine without them.

Cheers

Neil

Neil, mine is also a conversion and there is a glow plug timer fitted, it is powered for about 10 seconds when the ignition is switched on. It has no temp senson so it works  all year round, I suppose you could use a relay controled by a push button but I find the timer works ok.

Hi Pete, is the glow plug timer a standard part or is it something that needs fudginf together from something else as it sounds like the ideal solution?

Thanks

Hi, mine seems to be a standard item, sure any motor factors should be able to source one for you.
