£309 FC on a 98 3.1 Commerical through Tescos... inc Legal and Windscreen Cover...
4 Years NCB and Claim against me... They knocked spots off all the others and many wouldnt insure it as it was a commerical
So give Tescos ago |

Well I was with Tescos before I bought my first trooper 94 3.1Lt diesel LWB so I just informed them of the change of vehicle. No problems for a few days. I then recieved a letter stating that they wanted me to send them the certificate of fittment for the imobiliser complete with type and serial numbers.
I phoned them and explained that due to the vehicles age the certificate had most likely been lost. No problem they said take it to an alarm specialist and get them to inspect system and record type and serial nos. All at my expense. Managed to get a mate of mine with a garage to check it all out and write it on letter headed paper which they acepted.
Last february I changed the vehicle for a 1998 3Lt diesel LWB. Same again. They wanted to see a certificate off fitment with all the details despite itb being a FACTORY FIT. I phoned Isuzu Uk who were helpfull and sent me a letter to forward to them stating that serial numbers were not available but confirming that it was a factory fit as standard. They would not accept saying they would only cover me for third party and fire no theft. Thayts fine I said just give me a refund as I have less cover. You guessed it. Not a chance. was told it dosent work like that.
Only option I had was to cancel policy (with the usual loss of money for the privalidge) and change companys. Changed to Admiral. When I spoke to them I explaned the fact that vehicle had Imobiliser but could not supply details other than a factory fit and was told thats fine sir.
My experiance for what its worth is Dont use Tescos. |

Go for it. They were very helpfull. The lady said " in a claim situation that we felt you did not disclose something, its up to us to prove that, not up to you to prove that frst"
I allso got run off the road in the spring by some low life, Admiral were first class with the claim (first claim I have ever put in in 35 years driving) and sorted it out with no fuss what so ever. I am sure they will sort you out. |
