Hi
I am very new to the wonderful world of Isuzu Trooper Bighorn. I recently bought a '93, one owner Bighorn automatic with 98000 on the clock for towing our caravan. The vehicle is perfect in every way with one exception. I can be travelling along with everything working as it should and for no apparent reason the vehicle refuses to move into top gear whilst I am accelerating normally. Then again for no apparent reason it will revert to normal. Frustrating or what. Any suggestions from all of the experts out there.
Thanks
Steve : Confused

Is your speedo working ok or flicking abit

I have had two problems like this on two different bighorns

One the speedo did not work and it would change into top

it was the speedo drive gear

The other was speedo worked fine but turned out to speedo drive sensor thingy connected to it

both in same place at back of gearbox

easy to change

but speedo drive sensor thingy is about £150 so make sure first

i have a part number if you need a new one

or locate a secondhand one

cheers

simon
