Hi not sure if I am being stupid or not but just doing an oil change and on reading the manual I think it says to put the same oil in the transfer case as you put in the transmission which would be 10w40 like the engine , but on draining the transfer case it looks and smells more like gear oil . I presume the transfer case is the one on the side of the gearbox and the shift on the fly is beside the nearside front wheel,
Help which is which and what type of oil.

Yeah, use engine oil.

5W30 gives the best temperature range  Smile

I phoned my local Isuzu dealer who really didn't have a clue he told me that the computer said to use " SJ rated 5w30 syncromesh fluid,
Thanks for that Wirdy I have put in 10w 40 semi that I put into the engine.
