hi all need some advice regarding the type of radio i need,
at the moment while out with hounds we use handheld walkie talkies.
not great i know coupled with this the places we go are full of hills and trees.
obviously the range is'nt great unless hilltop to hilltop SOOOO,
what type of set up would suit better?maybe some type of handheld CB ?
i have no idea as to what you need (we had a cb when i was a kid in the bedroom)
what kind of range do these offer (obviously enviroment allowing) 3-4 miles is what we could do with
bareing in mind the hills and trees, sorry about the newbie questions but i'd rather ask here than
on some dedicated cb site Laughing many thanks Roy

you can pick up a half decent unit up on eebuygum quite cheap...i've just got a good midland unit for £30
but it still depends on your aerial i have a 5ft springer on a mag mount on roof and get good coverage ..soon to be moved to a back door bracket with pl259 connector so when offroading the tree's don't get caught in the spring part and nick it again  Laughing  Laughing
