|
|
Can someone give me a quick low down on how to get to the injectors to get the serial numbers on my 3.0 TD.
IM say they were changed on 2006 and the software was checked April 09 but would like to reassure myself that the injectors are not part of a bad batch.
Presume its intercooler off etc??? |

Found this on another page of the forum and might help you,
Upto serial number 554263 your injectors will be changed
After serial number 554264 your injectors are ok and wont get replaced under the recall/campaign.
If any 1 of your injectors is before 554263 all 4 injectors will be renewed under the recall/campaign.. _________________

REMOVAL
Prior to removal, be sure to confirm and record the
group code of the injector installed using Tech2. ---------------- You can ignore that !
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner cover and air duct.
3. Remove intercooler.
Refer to “Intercooler” in this manual.
4. Remove PCV hose and pipe.
5. Remove cylinder head noise insulator cover. ------------ Unbolt the throttle body to get this off its quicker'
6. Remove high pressure oil pipe.
CAUTION:
1) Sleeve nut should be loosened with cloth tied
around to prevent oil from spurting due to the
remaining pressure.
2) High oil pressure pipe should be disconnected
with cloth tied around the intake manifold glow
plug to prevent oil from flowing out of the oil
rail.
9. Remove PCV hose to cylinder head cover.
10. Remove cylinder head cover.
NOTE: Do not drop O-ring -------------------------------------- tiny ones in the pipe fitting ends.
12. Record the grade code of injector for each cylinder
that is indicated on the upper portion of injector.
There are nine kinds of grade code available, one
alphabet letter and one numeral letter.--------------------------------- you can read the s/n now _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

we never did look at serial numbers of your spare ones Simon, hopefully I will get the sleeves replaced next weekend I will have a look at mine whilst I have them out even though they were checked in December and post my findings. If need be I will have to pop over and check yours simon or you will have to bring it to me. |

Thanks to the member for the pm
now found the numbers
if anyone else is having trouble like me
they are tiny little numbers about 1.5 to 2mm high
and are sort of etched into the the brown area in the middle of the injector
if you look down on them from above
i have booked in at the opticians to have eyes checked
just incase its me
cheers |
