DAB.
Looking to improve the brakes on my 2000X Reg Trooper. Wondered if two pot front calipers from Rodeo would fiit. Can anyone advise if the caliper has the sliding bolt, lock bolt and rubber concertina boot arrangement, as the Trooper has.
Front discs are same diameter.
I did contact Milner's and asked if anyone there could do a visual check re dimensions of centres of mounting holes, general shape etc, but no joy.
If similar mounting arrangements to Trooper I'll probably go ahead and order one caliper, and see if it could be a replacement, albeit more expensive. I'm assuming the two-pot Rodeo brakes would provide a significant improvement on the Trooper's set up.
Thanks in anticipation for some info. |

There's always more to it than just swapping callipers. You have the hydraulics to consider.
If the master cylinder does not match you could have spongy brakes, grabby brakes, unbalanced braking etc.I suggest you do some more searching before wasting money on a calliper.
You could try a search on brake upgrades at other forums, here for instance.

I think the Isuzu Mu has interchangeable bits for the Rodeo,so some may fit the model you have.
Look before you leap. You could also talk to brake specialists.Again, you could do a search. |

DAB.
Many thanks for input. I will indeed do some research and see if anyone has already managed a successful brake upgrade on my model. Why try and re-invent the wheel?
My plan was to order one two-pot caliper and see if it would mate with the Trooper's set up. If not I'd just return it, and further resaerch on that particular option would be foreclosed. If it fitted I'd then research master cylinder specs etc to check that existing cylinder would "drive" the two-pot calipers on a normal brake pedal stroke etc.
Best regards. |

Goodo, best of luck. There may even be an Australian (if not Euro or USA) dealer who does larger diameter discs and callipers to suit,as a retrofit.Worth checking out!
