hi all looking for some advise, opened the bonnet today and the top hose on the rad was out of shape, sucked in,opened the rad cap hiss of air and hose back in shape,a bit of goo round the rad cap smelt exactly like putty,no overheating, doesnt use oil or water,no smoke.running great.
recently had a new thermostat, had the truck about a year with no real probs.any advise or thoughts would be great, thanks.

Sounds like it has at some point had radweld or some such in it. Maybe run a flush through? What colour was the goo?

Yeah that would be the first thing I would try. Kseal smells like that. Could be that the bottom hose or other lower water way has become clogged.

You could pull the rad out and flush it through. Why did it have k-seal in it? Any of the smaller pipes I would check. The ones from the thermostat housing that run along the rocker box are normally in my experience the first ones to let go.
