I have a 93 3.1TD Trooper Bighorn automatic & cannot get the engine to pass about 1800rpm. It runs smoothly enough, but just won't accelerate. The engine has done just over 100k, has been serviced regularly, and the turbo unit was changed about 2000 miles ago. I've just changed the air and fuel filters which seemed to solve the problem for about 5 minutes. Has anybody any ideas please? It's getting a bit embarassing travelling everywhere at about 10mph.

does it rev when in neutral ,if not maybe a clean out / blow back of the fuel line might help , and replace the fuel filter again could be muck in the tank needing draining out

Inspect the fuel lines for crimps and dents that may be restricting flow and check the condition of any rubber bits, making sure theres no air getting in. Also and I know this sounds dumb, make sure that theres nothing restricting the accelerator pedal, we once took my wifes car to the dealer with similar symptoms and it took them over an hour to find a crumpled up rubber mat stopping the pedal reaching full travel.
