Hi there, even when I was running my old Mk1 2.8td I didn't run it on veggie oil even though there were savings to be made. I was concerned about the state it might leave my fuel pump in and the state of the injectors. You might save on the cost of fuel but how much for an injector pump? Sad

Your right Dafydd, if you can turn your mind back to when unleaded fuel appeared in the UK, the price was lower than 4 star, to get everyone converted, as this was the green thing to do.

But now it seems the pollutants generated with cars not fitted with a CAT back then , gave out far more toxins than the cars using 4 star leaded petrol.

Look at LPG, massive tax breaks on this FOSSIL fuel, where as still the goverment ignore the bio alternative, which has been tried and tested all over the world, and in most cases an improvement over diesel.

Thet fact is Oil companies rule the world, any true decisions made by a goverment regarding fuel, has already been decided by the Oil companies.

Aviation fuel is vitually tax free, yet commercial aircraft is the major contributer to green house gases.
But it's the evil motorist especially the large 4x4 thats the major polluting devil.

I'll get off my box now, ( till the next time) Very Happy

in all fairness the whole system has got us by the balls. Personally id rather then tax fags and booze to death to compensate for a reduction in fuel tax. We all will require a gallon of fuel to get to work, but we can all live without the fags or booze, and infact live longer!!
