Hello Gary, i quite like the look of your 1989 trooper its smartl ooking with the bull bars or style bar , i wonder where you got the bars from? the colour is decent. im thinking of getting a LWB trooper and do it up as a 4x4 project. as im new here i hope to talk more about troopers!!!!

Nice looking Bighorn mate, the grey look bars are a really good look. Most of the Bighorn's over here have those, but they're a dark colour and don't look as good as yours. _________________ 1996 Mazda B2500 |

Sorry folks, I've been off-line since the beginning of December due to a house move. mbw, I'm not sure if that silver/grey is the original colour. The guy I bought the car from was LandRover specialist and he had taken the Trooper in part exchange on a Landy. He had resealed the back end and had the bars powder-coated. Mind you, it's now something like 6 months down the line and they are definately looking a little scruffy.
As for where they come from, I have no idea. They do seem to be fairly standard on most Mk I Irmschers so maybe they are one of they're own design, although I have seen a very few Lotus ones with the same bars so it's still a bit of a mystery. _________________ Gary

Here's a pic of a typical older Bighorn in NZ. The bars usually are the same colour as the bumper they are attached to.

After seeing a pic of yours, I might do the same (powder coating etc) if I ever buy one of these. _________________ 1996 Mazda B2500 |

I have a 1990 Irmscher Bighorn, it has the same front bar / bumper. I have seen a couple the same around here and they also have the same bar, could be Irmscher standard???
