No its not normal, but some companys insist, its a factory fitted item so you cant get paperwork, the best I can do is scan the page from the handbook but I doubt they will take that _________________ |

If its factory fitted then you don't need to supply any details - but if its dealer fitted you'll have to somehow get the alarm/immobiliser info
maybe the insurance company haven't entered the details in the computer accuratly
i would double check the info they have before worrying
all cars should be on the database with all optional exras as well -
regards

Had the same problem with churchill last year even got a letter from ISUZU stating that they fitted immoby how it worked etc etc
made no difference at all they still refused to accept it was immobilized, ended up having the car uninsured against theft for several months
then when insurance was up for renewal changed to an insurance co that accepted it has a factory fitted 1 _________________ aka x66dag

A lot of insurance companies wont recognise the factory immobiliser as it hasnt got a Thatcham catergory/rating to prove its worth.(This is what Direct Line explained to me). I ended up having to get a Thatcham catergory 1 fitted or i wouldnt be insured for theft. Cat 1 alarms arent that expensive to have fitted compared to what they used to be. _________________

I've spoke to them again this morning and they've told me a letter from Isuzu will be acceptable so let's hope it does work. |
