having computer "issues"
using Vista as an operating system and all was fine till last week i am unable to open a web brouser using internet explorer.
it is not my internet as if i use a shortcut on my start bar i can get onto a game called WOT that i play from time to time, and i can chat on team speak .
but unable to open any web pages.
im unsure what to chesck tbh, i can find my way arounf a PC a little but im no expert.
another problem i have noted is that my wifi is there but cant access it with my laptop or my phone which i would normally be able to do.
i think its going to need a new operating system put upon it but that entails copying all the stuff from it which is a pain, so thought i would check here first.
thanks
mark. |

I had a problem like that with Vista and it was the firewall, I had to remove the firewall and then install a different one, if you get an upgrade to Windows 7 then you dont really need to copy everything and reinstall it as it will just put the new operating system over the top of the old, you can also run the upgrade advisor which will tell you if any of your programs are incompatable. |

World Of Tanks? I haven't played in ages, but its good fun
With regards to upgrades, its fine if you are upgrading Vista 32 to W7 32bit, but if like me you want to go to the Windows 7 64 bit version, it does require a clean install.
As for your problem, can you open your email program? I use Thunderbird and Firefox as I've had problems with IE myself.
Have you tried rebooting your router, or resetting it?
Also try running Windows Update, or 'Devices and Printers' from the Start menu. Right click on your PC and select troubleshoot. |
