The Boys brought me a C B for crimbo, it's a Midland 98 plus with a 3 foot whippy mag mount
I wired a cigar liter plug on the end an drove around yesterday until I found some voices, first 2 weren't English
However did come across a couple of blokes having a chat, it turned out that they had home rigs, the closest 1 to me was
about 5miles as the crow flys but he said that I was a bit faint although I could hear him really clearly, the guy he
was chatting with was way out of my range at about 18miles.
So I wont be the only 1 without a rig in june being all Billy no mates at the back of the bus _________________ aka x66dag

It makes life so much easier when laning if you have coms
If you can pick up someone 5 miles - 18 miles your easily working well . |

nice one dave ... 6ft springer on rear door and it'll work even better plus won't keep getting pulled of when out laning and you hit some low branches as i found out a few times ....if the springer coil is below the roof line there's nothing for branches to get tangled up in ....ADZ is now on his 3rd one i think ... his is bolted to his roof rack but as spring is higher the trees love to grab hold of it and make it disappear ...starts getting exspensive to keep replacing at £13 a shot for aerial
twice i lost a new 7" mag mount and springer at £25 a shot befor i decided to move it to back door
not saying it's a bad choice but keep an eye on it if you go out laning anytime 10-4 _________________ LTM NO.41 |

i've seen loads .....think a couple although not totally ripped off at deby but pulled mag mount of roof and it gives quite a fright when it swings down side of truck and tries to come in through the side window ..... i put a quick release bracket on mine so can leave all the bracket ect and just whip of the aerial when not in use ... miles easier _________________ LTM NO.41 |

there's no branches to worry about in that pic lol
on the 'faitfull' river crossing if you look closely at the end when ADZ scramled out the other side you can see the tree grab hold of his bolted on aerial and rip it off (again) _________________ LTM NO.41 |
