ok, so what's best for everyday driving, taking everything into consideration apart from depreciation...a late 3.1td or an early 3.0, i have a bit of a quandry here....

For what its worth, I'd go for a late 3.1, a simpler & generally more reliable motor with less issues, have a look in the recall notices page at the 3.0/4jx1 thread & you'll see what I mean. If it was me I wouldn't go buying into that potential hassle, brilliant motor that the 3.0 in theory should & can be.

i own a great 3.0ltr but in all fairness the 3.1 seems the way to go

thanks mates.....the 3.0 seems great when it works, but the problems on the site seem to be 10:1 against it !!!!
i was being seduced by the increase in bhp i think...
