I’m typing this at my work desk so do not have the opportunity of having a look under the truck, so excuse me if I’m missing something really obvious.
Looking at Matski’s pictures of dropping the diff, there is one showing the axle on the ground with the mounting plates in situ. This shows the plate to chassis mountings.
My humble question is;
Would it not be possible to lower the diff by spacing the 4 mounting rubbers down by 1 inch?

It would poss foul the steering if you did it that way. Mine is lowered the same as the pics and has that actual locker in it _________________ landcruiser 80 series 4.5, 35's/33's for road, 2inch lift, discreet winch, sliders/armour, factory lockers, stainless side exit +++++ |

Hi Gary
I had a lie down under the truck at the weekend and dropping the mounting plates would interfere with the steering.
I will try and get hold of a spare set of mountings so that I can mod them prior to doing the job.
A locker would be nice but cannot justify spending more on a diff than i did on the car.
Annoyingly I do have a Detroit Locker for a LR Sailsbury axle in the lock-up ut cannot bear to part with it (yet)
Cheers John |
