|
|
I was contemplating to buy either a Bighorn or a Trooper.
Well the insurance companies have made my decision clear. I was quoted £690 by the Co-operative (weird as a relative is the head of Business Development lol) on a 1995 Trooper and when I tried to see how much a 1995 Bighorn would cost (knowing it would be a bit dearer due to it being an import), the cheapest I could get it down too was £2350.
You work that one out, is that normal to get fleeced that much for a import? crazy price that is Ive even been quted £1100 for same age Pajero Dont worry I won't be driving round with the words W***Ker on my back in spanish or not
But on a serious note what are the insurance companies playing at?
Trooper it is for me, sorry Bighorn but its not in my best interest to pay the price of a truck for the insurance.....
Thoughts? anyone? |

I only have 4 years no claims and I live in a smack infested area of Wigan (full of thieving gets)....so £690 I must say I kind of happy with, nature of the beast an all....however, wish it was £300 like yours
but still why is a bighorn well over a grand difference to insure??? that's a strange one isn't it!? |

I'm 29 mate, no convictions, no claims....only reason I don't have 6 years no claims is because i had two years off third party fire an theft...my Mrs too is the same but when I put it in her name and me as a named driver it works out cheaper, she is same age as me and the same as my latter |

This might sound daft but have you got any older male relatives that drive with a clean licence? If so try adding them as named drivers I think you can add 3 drivers altogether
Also have you tried adding your missus as a named driver on yours?
I say male earlier as i tried adding my mother inlaw (she has bought all the family's young drivers insurance down) and mine went up by £300
Also what have you put as your profession? That can make a HUGE difference _________________

I have to put it through as my Mrs truck and so she is the proposer, i have to be a named driver to have it cheapest, but since you say adding good relatives with clean licenses i may give that a go pal, and really "barman"? does that really send your premium down? |

Don't put barman or you'll be looking at £10k
Anything to do with the motor trade or public houses will raise it through the roof
anything boring or unemployed might help _________________
