Awesome pic! Where does he live in the US? I see he's got an Isuzu Trooper RS (the really short wheelbase model for America) which was only made for two years in 1989 and 1993. His is a 1989 Trooper and I wonder if I've seen him on another site before? I don't think I have and his Trooper is rare here in the States. He also has converted his grille setup to the older 84-86 Trooper round headlight style instead of the stock square headlight style. Makes it look better in my opinion, nice looking unit, and markymoan you should tell him to join up on the forum here.

He does live in the US, they have about 1 1/2 acres of land to play on,
I asked him for more pics, he sent me one of his Bronco being pulled out by his mums Blazer (I meant of the trooper),
He's put the bonnet back on now

markymoan, I know he lives in the US but where does he live exactly? Is his Trooper a 1989 model? Is he a member of any Trooper message boards? Thanks.

OK, because his Trooper in the UK is considered just a SWB Trooper while in the US it's considered a Trooper RS. Not sure what the RS stands for though?? I'm a member of a great message board/website on the internet that covers the US model Troopers well. The website is www.4x4wire.com Some of you may know it already or have visited there as well. My username is the same on there as it is here on ITOCUK. If he isn't a member there he should take a look at the forum and join up. There are a few members on the Isuzu forums that own the 1989 RS Trooper, but not a whole lot because of its rarity. Thanks for sending him the message as I'm just curious about his Trooper.

Try www.planetisuzu.com if you want a good US based Isuzu forum.

I've known about Planet Isuzu for quite some time and may join there soon. I've been a member at 4x4Wire for over a year and a half and it's just as good for sure. I was attracted to the site because they have a seperate Isuzu Diesels forum that I visit daily. Thanks for the reply though.

Cool, I'm surprised he isn't a member of 4x4Wire. Do you know if he is or a member of any other US Trooper websites? From looking at his picture you posted it looks like it doesn't have any lift at all. Looks like it sits too low to have a 3" lift, but maybe I'm wrong. He used to have the 4ZD1 2.3 gas engine which was the powerplant installed from the factory. Wonder why he went with the smaller 1.8 gas engine as it doesn't have more power or torque than the 2.3 does? Do you know if the 31x10.5 tires rub at all when he is driving it and turning the steering wheel all the way to one direction? I'm thinking of going with 31x10.5 tires for my 86 Trooper when I go to buy tires for inspection. Thanks for you reply.

I've mistaken his Trooper for an RS, but it actually isn't because of the way the picture is angled. It was harder for me to tell since his driver's side door is open in the picture and since it's an 86 model year it wouldn't be an RS. It is our SWB model that was made up to 88 I believe and then in 89 you could get an even shorter wheelbase model that was called the Isuzu Trooper RS (just an everyday SWB model for you guys in the UK though, but rare for us in the US). Our LWB Troopers are the 4 door models just like yours in the UK. markymoan, thanks for contacting him and all. I like talking to Trooper owners anywhere, so that's the reason for all my questions. Appreciate your time and thanks again.
