As most are aware i'm in the process of a 3.0 to 3.1 conversion.

Problem i have is i cant get the clutch release bearing to clip into place, it slides into the fingers of the pressure plate etc but just wont click into place. You can see it sliding through the inspection hatch thing.

When the slave cylinder is in place the pedal is rock hard.

Before i attached the clutch assembly to the engine we checked that the release bearing fitted and locked etc through the fingers and of course to put it back in the right way.

Have i done something wrong or has the bearing had it or is it something else.

Is there a secret to sort this before gear box comes out. Crying or Very sad

I've got a feeling the thrust bearing may have been damaged getting engine off gearbox. Embarassed  Crying or Very sad

They haven't been rolling around in treacle again ... I had to wash my eyes in bleach the last time!

On a serious note this would be great as a sticky.

The bit that threw me was that the bits from the pressure plate ended up apart and i couldnt find a diagram showing how it all went back together.

So guess work wasnt quite correct first time round. Embarassed  Shocked
