To run 4" shocks without more lift you'd need extended shock turrets Adz.

Was thinking of rears pete, the truck wont be lifted anymore than 2 inches but will tuck up into reformed arches so the front doesn't need to be excessive.

I've thought about doing it Adz, was thinking +5" challenge shock but don't have the time to work it all out at the moment

I know what you mean mate bit the extra length on the shock body at +4" would mean the shock would virtually be fully compressed if you know what I mean so that would be the limiting factor.

Yeah I've seen it, not my cup of tea but it's impressive the work that's gone into it.

Yeah, you'd end up over compressing the shock on breaking it like I did on west cam!!
The other thing to consider is the top link on the axle, how far will that move before it binds? I think it would probably need rose jointing.

If you drop the front axle don't really lose ground clearance, it's still above the wishbones Wink if make a bash plate under there it'll make it smooth so can effectively slide over stuff. Might be some pics of the one I made on here and it was with an axle drop.

Imo 4 inch on the front is too much as lose too much down travel.

Yep, especially when there's a body lift on there too.

Look at the comp trucks, big tyres with small lift, massive flex.

That's my thoughts on arch modification rather than lifting any more Gary.

Leafers (under or over sprung) suffer with spring  'wrap ' aka Hotchkiss effect  under power so they get drag links fitted which look like - radius arms that pete makes !

Backward step in my view ,you may say or post different  Smile

The trick is to keep all or at least a pair of wheels on the ground so going up  on springs  and body is not allways the way to get traction which is what you  want  oi rekons .

You need to hit the bump stops before your shock tops  out and on full rear drop both sides  the shock travel should stop before  the prop jams up .

You can put a +5" shock on a trooper rear but the top mount needs to come forward a bit or you lose axel travel  and dont get the right damping effect as the shocks too stiff to work upright .
