Hi guys I have a bighorn 3.1 diesel. Starts fine fine when cold, runs great but when I turn it off and then start it again it has trouble starting. I have to wind her over a fair bit until she starts, then when she does start there is some smoke, but soon clears. Any ideas guys.
Thanks
Helen

Hi , if its a long time after the first start so the engines hot I'd be looking at the cold start advance on the injector pump sticking in .

Its an external thing that works off the cooling system water so look under the  side of the injection pump when its cold and see the two water pipes and the arm then when its hot see if its moved or stayed the same . Thanks to Yoshi for this info/tip

If its  not long enough for the water to get hot then maybe its the after glow system which could be the resistor box up under the drivers side headlight or the relay ,so come back on here with what you find .
