A simple test for injection oil flow is to take out the small bung at the front of the oil rail  (underneath) and crank away ,should be a steady flow of oil from it which should increase in flow as you crank if alls well with the system .

Just an thought , is it cold enough where you are  to make the glowplugs come on ? if they have all packed up it will crank but wont go for a  bit  and chucks out white smoke too ..

she fires up with a can of degresser in the turbo,   and the glow plugs do come on today,  midwinter  a chilly 19 deg, overcast with showers. even put a shirt on.

If its running ok once its started but won't start up without gas then the ropcv  is sticking  so get a new one ,or try  a known good one to prove this

sorry i meen   she only fires up while some one is feeding a can of degresser into the tubo.  no degresser no run
