ok so i check all the wires by color, in the J plugs
jump 4-6 and get a 63 flash. oil rail voltage high ORPS
ok so i pull j2-7 the whit one out of the plug, give her a flick and she starts.
sound like idling on 3, smothes out at about 2000 rpm, no power like 20 klms top speed.
back into the drive way. turn it off. 5 minits go to mover her no start.
now considering the ORPS was changed about 6 months ago and it has still not run correct and it has not been on a tech2
what should i be doing now?? |

The ORPS really needs setting up correctly on Tech 2 but if you think it is only running on 3 and an injector is down you would see a fair amount of gearstick movement (assuming it's a manual) as it rocks like crazy on 3. Hit 2000 rpm and the momentum of the engine smooths it out.
Just a thought, apart from pulling the pin out of the plug, have you had the plug apart as sometime they fill up with oil (capillary action down the injector wiring) and this can give these intermittent problems. The oil can in time work its way all the way to the ECU _________________ JDW

You would need to disconnect the batteries for a while to clear any residual DTC's and then bridge the OBD pins again to do another flash test _________________ JDW

Id be looking at a ropcv issue next however if you have done that then it could be one of the following .
ERG flap sticking shut ,take it out .
Crank sensor just out of range - file the base down a few thou.
ROPS loom grounding somewhere - rig a bulb if you dont have a meter and pull the loom about with the cam cover off.
While your in there raise the cambox height with some cardboard or plastic so the engine can run with the camcover off ,it keeps the oil in and pull each injector plug off and see if the engines note changes when you start up . that will show if there is a bad injector . _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |
