I've recently been getting a check engine light come on at approx 1500 to 1800 RPM.its a 2002 citation  auto.ivecleaned and changed the throttle body and the EGR valve and replaced  the vacuum pipes and removed and cleaned the MAP sensor,I've also disconnected the batteries overnight to clear any possible codes that might be lurking in the ECU.the car starts as normal and seems to drive ok but the check engine light still appears at approx 1500 to 1800RPM.ive also noticed that when the car is on tick over at approx 750 to 850 RPM every 5 seconds or so the check engine light flashes on and the engine note seems to change then it goes back to normal, it sounds like a flap partially closing somewhere then returns to normal,i have lifted the air filter box lid off and it sounds like some kind of back pressure? Rolling Eyes . I have noticed that when the engine note changes the EGRVALVE  moves very slightly.the Isuzu dealer can't diagnose any problems because the check engine light isn't  staying on so it can be read.the car has had a new engine, turbo etc as no recall work had been done and I think it's covered approx 20,000 miles since being replaced Rolling Eyes thanks in advance

He needs to come on here bit then because unless the fault is not detected by the ECU after 20 start ups it will be in the memory as  a not present fault code.If the lights on the the code be present when tech 2 is linked in .

Presumably said dealer didn't say 'Lets go for a spin Sir with tech 2 plugged in and lets see if we can get the fault conditions up so I can do a snapshot ' ?

It has all the marks of the tps sensor playing up but do a flash code test yourself to be sure .

I've done a flash test and it comes up with  code 74. I was wondering if the engine is getting choked up with soot as it don't really get any good runs to give it a good clear out.when it starts up it doesn't smoke or anything, when your. Driving  along and give it some throttle it doesn't really smoke either.
