I don’t believe it, you guys must be dead jammie, I assume all your rear axle casings are in pristine condition even with all the off roading no doubt some of you do.
Surely there must be someone out there that’s had to paint something on theirs, go on guys live dangerously and spill the beans what did you paint on it? underseal, waxoyl, heat resisting black paint, Hammerite, go for it .
Cheers

Hi d12
Thanks for the reply, after the paint has dried did you get much smell for it when the axle gets warm/hot, I can't help wondering what the manufactures put on them when they are new I'm pretty sure it's not underseal, I'm only guessing here but I'm wondering if it's just bog standard black paint. |

It's satin black paint and a spray wax, as on most new vehicles. |

Hi Bedders
So it is just black paint, I didn't know about the spray wax though, I wonder why they don't put underseal on similar to what they put on the floor pan area.
Any ideas? |

Axles are fitted to the chassis anthem body is separate they are only put together after the paint protection has been applied to each part, otherwise there would be over spray on every part, panel and component. |

Thanks for that bedders, so it all comes down to the manufacturing process in the end. |
