Well, 5 years on from the last set I posted, here’s a set of photo’s of the old thing at the age of 15, in the same order as the first set - but they are new shots (honest!).
Still original paint and last waxed about 4 months ago (using Collinite 845 wax), the wheels though were stripped and repainted just a few weeks ago.
The inner panels and underside were treaded with Dinitrol cavity wax and bodyseal at the end of last year.
Oh! I finally had the original exhaust replaced about 6 months ago ‘cause it wasn’t worth patching up, went stainless (for less than the cost of a replacement mild steel).
The custom fit (2”) ended up with two boxes again. We tried with the centre box only but the resonance in the car between 2,400 and 2,900 rpm would have driven me nuts.
The final version has the two boxes but both much smaller than the originals, result is a good growl on acceleration without having to shout at each other inside the car.
