It is advisable to buy a genuine Isuzu thermostat or is non genuine OK?
Many moons ago (if my memory serves me correctly) we would test a temp gauge by earthing the wire that goes to the temp sender unit and the temp gauge needle should reasonably swiftly go to full hot. Is this still a valid way to test a temp gauge? |

I'd be cautious but a quality one will be ok . Yes, that will test the gauge remember its the single wire one you want the other ones for the ECU to see the coolant temp. _________________ 2 New Troopers ! |

Would you say Milner's would be good quality? They state it as 82DEG, I believe the genuine article is 85DEG.

It's a tough decision because genuine Isuzu is £25+VAT and Milners is £8+VAT |

Am I right in assuming the temp sender unit (to the dash gauge) is the brass unit under the thermostat housing? If so it has more than one wire, which one do I earth to check the gauge?
