Hi folks the spanner light (svs) light has come on and stayed on the dash,
I got vehicle serviced around 1500miles ago, I feel the power may be down a bit any ideas ?
Thanks in advance.

Ok the light is now off, the wife was driving when it happened light came on then went into limp mode,
The light was on for a while,
It's off now,
I'm still going to get it plugged in, and see if error code comes up.
It's an 08 plate, rodeos denver,

Just a quick query, the lad in garage doesn't have Isuzu in his diagnostic machine, what would  be the equivalent?

No faults came up and I drove it there and back without the same happening,

I think you need to get hold of someone with a GM tech2 scanner. I've got a fully up to date Solus and its not on there either

Happened again tonight, driving home noticed the abs/handbrake light flashing on at around 3000 rpm,  then the svs light came on and limp mode ,

I pulled in and turned off motor, fired it up again and ran better with svs light still on, took to the mechanics he plugged it in no code , and then light went out and run home again fine,

Seems to be an intermittent problem,

After talking to the isuzu dealer, I wonder if it the turbo? He mentioned that something about the boost needing adjustment, as the light seems to be illuminating more, and it's always at higher revs when pulling up hill etc
They want £80 to plug it in with no guarantee the fault will be on the ecu, unless the lights are on when it's plugged in,

Might be worth checking/replacing your air and fuel filters. If either are a bit "iffy" it would be likely to show at higher revs or under load  Smile

Hi James, filters changed around 2000 miles ago, when serviced, thanks for the input,
After reading a post on page 8 of this forum, about a turbo, it seems very similar. Symptoms, so thinking it could be the boost.

Ok, took to dealer yesterday, and apparently was abs fault, brakes needed bled, and there was also an overcharging issue caused by the abs problem.
Both of which would cause the shut down to limp mode.
So brakes were bled and issue appears, atm to be rectified.

Well did it again this morning had a loaded trailer on the back, just got half mile from home,
Anyway certainly seems to be when pulling I.e up hill, with trailer,
Drove the 26 miles to dealer, gave it some higher revs around 3000,and fine all the way there,
So I think it must be a turbo issue.

You sure the alternator isn't overcharging. I would get one of those plug in volt meter things for the ciggy lighter and watch what is happening.

When the regulator breaks down they sometimes spike and over charge. Can be bad for the battery as consistent overcharging can knacker the battery as well.

Is that easy to check, it has been overcharging at some point they said, would this explain the intermittent times it does it and the going to limp mode,
More importantly is it expensive and easy to rectify,

If it is overcharging then it throws everything out of whack.

You can get little voltmeters that plug into your cigarette lighter for an accurate live reading.

Usually it is the regulator breaking down in the alternator that causes it. Starts with random spikes, and eventually either stop working altogether or constantly overcharges. You can get the alternator either refurbished or replaced depending on condition.

I would get onto it asap as it could do more than just fry the battery. I had a cavalier that did this. Took me ages to figure out what happened and it was spiking at 17 volts. Lucky it didn't fry the ECU.
