The air conditioning is not working on my trooper 3.1. Should I remove it, fix it or leave it. If removal what do I need???(I'm working away at present so cant see the car)

To remove it you need a professional company to reclaim any gas that is in the system. Then you can either just leave as is as the compressor will now act as a giant idler pulley. You can get an idler pulley designed for non-ac trucks, though you will need the shorter belt that goes with it. That will allow you to pull all the hoses and condenser out as well. Last option (which is what I go for) is seeing as you have to get someone out to reclaim the gas, you might as well get them to service and recharge the system properly. They can see if there is any leaks and get the proper amount of gas in there. I like my aircon .. especially during the random heatwaves we have, but then I do a lot of miles.
