Ok, if you start it up and hold the revs at 2000 for a couple of mins does it slowly die down until it cuts out? |

Hi Eithan,
My Isuzu Trooper 2000 with 4JX1 engibe seems to experienced the symptoms that you are saying. The drove my car for about 20km to drop off my sister. When I stopped the car near the train station, i saw the tachometer went wild and eventually died. I tried to start it again and again. After some time, it starts. However, after a few seconds or few meters tachometer went to zero again. This time I cant make the engine start by the using the starter.
I used the old fashion way to start a MT vehicle. I was able to start it. From then on I keep my tach greater than 2k forcthw engine not to die. After about 10km, the engine runs normal. Based from this, it seems that the battery was diacharged.
After a week, I dis another ride. I made sure thag the battery is fine. After about 5km, thw car stops. Same scenario before. The tach went wild then died. I called my dad to tow my car. I Waited for about 30min. when my dad came, i tried to start the engine and it did start. Again, after a few kms or seconds engine died. I waited for some time and it started again but died eventually. After that, I could not make it start. It cranks but wont start. We decided to tow it to our place.
I've read some discussion about this ORPS and the white wire but I havent tried it.
Do you think the scenario I encounter with my isuzu trooper is mostly likely the symptom for defective ORPS? |

Hi Eithan,
I towed my car to the nearest dealer. After checking, they told me that the ORPS and RPCV is reading low based on TECH2. It needs to be replaced.
I'll share other findings when the car got fixed for reference. |

bit of a blanket fix really it's unlikely that both orcv and orps are faulty |
