Quick question. Can I use chains on the front wheels while 4x4 is engaged? I know the front needs to slip a bit and I don't want to kill it but I really need chains.
I have a place in the mountains and the last part of the journey is a hillclimb and it's pretty much ice with snow under it. Last weekend I was there and had to stop, middle climb, for a tractor that was coming down. I was in 4x4 LOW and I bearly managed to get the car going again.
Thanks!

Thank you for the reply.
Well it's ice with snow for the most parts but there are areas where it's just snow. You go... half a mile on ice+snow, then you only have snow, and so on.
