I have this issue with my 98 Trooper, I am stopped with the vehicle running then all of a sudden it feels like some one just stepped on the go pedal mean while my foot is on the brakes, this is an intermittent problem and doesn't happen that often but a bit worried.
Any help is welcome..
Thanks

Check the oil level over time isn't rising for a start .. or make sure it doesn't smell of diesel.

There is a recall for this issue. They is a wiring modification that is done. Mainly affects the accelerator signal wiring.

Sorted out the same issue by running a fresh cabling (3 wire) for the accelerator sensor to ECU.

Official TPS recall by Isuzu

VOSA reference R/2011/154

Phone your local dealer and they can check it has been done or not:

No such luck here, this was never done and since it's a 98 the dealer will do it.
