Hi all, Iv'e had alot of trouble with a non starting 3.0 auto 2003 trooper LS spec from N. Ireland, no remote locking but has factory immobiliser & anti theft.
Now Iv'e done all the usual stuff regarding a non start situation & I'm starting to think the ECU is not energising injectors & RPCV.
The strange thing about this car is the brown anti theft relay was not fitted when I got the car ( started & run ok ) also ther is no anti theft/alarm light fitted to dash, with ignition on the CEL is showing & not flashing on cranking.
The Immobilzer is model RI-6DIS, the alarm & relay box is 897167-9921.
Also when I got the car someone had run cable from ignition starter position direct to starter solenoid, I thought this was wrong & discovered a switch near OBD socket, this was a disabling switch wired to auto shift inhibitor, so I reconnected factory starter cable all good.
The other thing although I can't be sure there seemed to be a cable wired to the engine bay fuse box connecting a unused relay socket to live or ground (can't remember) I did remove this so don't know if some clever *beep* did this to overide anti theft system.
Would the anti theft allow cranking but prevent injectors actuating, this car is doing my nut in Iv'e spent so much time on it & getting nowhere, Iv'e not got access to tech11 & not going to pay £££s for something I will only use once especially if I sell the bloody thing |

your probably gonna need a tech2 to diagnose this but what stuff have you tried so far? |

Hi Eithan, thanks for your reply to my post, Iv'e tested cam & crank sensors seemed ok had the RPCV apart & checked/ cleaned I know the ORPS is probably had it but cut white wire, pumped primer on filter & had diesel coming out of return on head.
The only fault code showing by jumping 4 & 6 on OBD socket was 63 (ORPS voltage high/low) but that was after I cut white wire, previously when it was running the sump was dropped & oil pick ups cleaned/ checked for loose fit.
There may be oil contamination on green plug & socket lurking under the inlet manifold which is virtualy impossible to reach without removing it but I will do this tomorrow as it has the cables running to all the important bits.
It will run using easy start (I know I know) so cam belt must be ok, but my patience it running out with the car.
My snap on ethos won't even connect to the diagnostic socket to read basic OBD2 |
