Hey guys just had this same problem, was found during a doe test that bearing need to be changed wnt to my normal mechanic he said no problem had done loads on different cars, 4 hours later rang to say holy *beep* what a disaster he put the whole thing back together and gave it back to me so he could take advice on it.i dropped it back to him today it took him and one other guy 2 hours just to get off the retainer they heated with oxy still no move it had to be cut off only way new bearing E60 retainer E40 labour E120 still a tiny bit of play on wheel,I am dropping back on tues for retest will update then.

I have a parts vehicle so I could have a practice round before working on the runner

In the bearing recess on one side, as well as on the parking brake shoes, was a lot of brownish thick oil -- is this a sign that the bearing seal has failed or is it gear oil leaking past the shaft  seals?
