Found my Trooper is fitted with an Exedy-branded DMF.
Some play present - So I emailed EXEDY Clutch Europe Ltd at Runcorn to ask for some advice on "acceptable limit".

Got the answer > "Unfortunately we do not have access to this information. Please contact your local Isuzu dealer who should be able to help you."

No "access"...
Pretty pathetic 'answer' from a major supplier - or was I expecting "service" ?     Either way I'm mightily unimpressed.
