Hello all,

So i went ahead and bought a 1999 Trooper LS LWB model almost pristine condition. Did some TLC on it together with front and rear camera to make it easy for the missus to park, put on privacy glass and changed the wheels on it. Goodyear ATSA 245/70/16.

I would like to push the wheels a little further out about 1.5-2 inches" or so so that they are just protruding past the fender. Found a supplier in California that makes them out of solid billet called R Bronson Tire Dealer and Repair shop  tireshopsupplies. com

I asked whether they would induce undue stress on the axles. They told me if you are using acorn style lugs to hold the wheels on, you will not have a problem. I didn't understand what they meant by this.

What do you guys think? Can't post link to picture

cheers

the further out you set the wheels is going to cause extra stress on the wheel bearings you can't escape that

thanks eithan for your reply.

Is 1.5" spacer a reasonable amount to move the wheels?  Enlarging tyres and alloy wheels still adds weight so I reckon both have their own disadvantages. The current wheel arch should be able to take upto 275/70/R16 but this is a significantly more expensive option to change 4 tyres if I could just add a spacer
