alternater wire getting very hot

hi  I have a big problem on my 1995 3.1 tdi  trooper the alternator burnt the live wire and melted the bolt I have repaired the wire replaced the alternator  started the car the wire started to get very hot to melting point again has any one got any dear's what would do this please thanks

Could be bad battery, bad ground, or possible a short somewhere. Disconnect battery and check -ve battery termiinal to alternator -ve, visually inspect -ve connection to alt, check continuity between +ve and -ve. If that all looks good get battery checked.
