Do you think i'd need an "infill" bit?, so to speak. Without actually taking it off, (and i really dont want to yet as exhaust fine at mo, touch wood)!, i cant tell if there is enough movement on exhaust to close the gap, or if i'd need to blag hubby into making a joining piece! _________________ If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. |

if you need an infill piece take the flap out of the casing and then put the casing back in |

think possibly, the casing may disintegrate first. looks a bit worse for wear. _________________ If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. |

thats normal most diesel trooper/bighorn exhausts last 10 years or more and the bolts are usually so bad they can`t be undone and have to be cut off |

I knew you were gonna say that! Have killed 2 grinders, (and a welder!) on trooper bolts already.
Think i might just leave it where it is for now then, deal with it when I need to.

The sensor for the CSD timing advance is the same one for the glow plugs. When it gets cold enough for the glow plugs to glow it also advances the timing. My system seems to work fine. I think my timing overall is a little bit retarded so I'm getting smoke when I start it around 5 celcius. I've unplugged the sensor, but the pump timing advance does not seem to work as there is no noticeable knock from the engine. Is there another way to test if the timing advance is working?
What does the timing advance look like?
