should do although the transmission would of been under load to get tit up the bank so it might not have worked, have you got a neutral light by the 4wd buttons? |

Will it go in to neutral if you press and hold the buttons where the white lines go to? |

Either side of the red light is a white line going to a button, press and hold the buttons and see if it will put the 4wd system in to neutral, then try putting it in to 2wd |

So it points to it not coming out rather than being able to go in, could be wound up still or it could be an issue with the limit switches within the motor, you can in bolt the motor and see if the spindle on the transfer box will turn manually but try jacking a wheel when it's on the flat first. |

The previous problem up until this date has been sorted by replacing the 4WD fuse under the bonnet. However over the last few days the 4WD check light has been persistently on. The truck is in 2WD, but when I press 4H the green 4WD light flashes a few times then goes out and truck is still in 2WD and when I press and hold the 2 buttons at the end of the white line it pops the 4WD fuse under the bonnet. |

Still struggling with my 4WD. Managed to remove 4WD check light by holding 3 buttons down for 20 secs now I'm still stuck in 2WD but the green 4WD light is flashing all the time, just at different speeds when I press 4H or 2H. It does not blow fuse anymore. Have had shifting motor of back of box and had look inside and get it to work with my own power supply but will still not work when I plug it into truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Hi....
Apologies if this far too late (just joined club).... I had a word with Dave Beaumont 4x4 Gearbox Specialists regarding intermittent low ratio selection on an 07 2.5 Rodeo - he said remove the actuator, find a flat screwdriver to fit the internal (?) spline in the transfer box, and give it some 'exercise' by twisting the screwdriver. Maybe changing oil/putting thin (flushing) oil in the transfer box would help free it off. I wouldn't thin the oil with paraffin (oil seals swell up), but driving a short distance at low speed with thin oil in may clean up the moving parts. One dealer also mentioned that the actuators are rarely to blame for this - it's usually lack of use of 4H or 4L resulting in a stiff transfer box - and that the actuators can burn out under these conditions. Therefore - OPERATE the transfer box controls on a regular basis. I hope this helps. If it won't free off.... 1) There seem to be plenty of secondhand transfer boxes on eebuygum from America. 2) Most gearbox places won't touch 4x4 transmissions, but Dave Beaumont was recommended by one of them! |

Still battling with my 4WD! Swapped the transfer box motor from my friends rodeo onto mine, still no 4WD but mine worked fine on his. so now I've removed the electrical control unit from above the throttle pedal, do I risk swapping this with my friends or could I damage his rodeo or the control unit? |
